Jim founded DCS Facility Services in 2009 after 30 very successful years in the maintenance industry. His career began on the ground floor when he was hired as a part-time janitor for Starlight Building Maintenance on his 19th birthday. He soon set himself apart, moving up in the ranks more quickly than any employee before him. In the course of his career he has held most positions associated with successful maintenance teams including janitor, floor crew supervisor, warehouse mechanic and supervisor. This growth provided Jim the strategic advantage of personally understanding the process, needs and concerns of employees, clients and the industry as a whole, allowing him to successfully lead Starlight Building Maintenance as Operations Manager for 16 years. Eventually Starlight Building Maintenance was sold and Jim left the company in 2007.
Because of his personal commitment, well-earned reputation and industry know-how, many previous customers reached out to Jim for help and guidance when it came to their maintenance needs, leading him to form DCS Facility Services in 2009. Under his guidance, the business has grown quickly and now employs over 500 individuals and serves eight states in the Western United States.
In his personal time Jim enjoys outdoor activities including camping, fishing and jet skiing and is dedicated in his efforts to help fight cancer with his personal and professional support of the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life events.
